A Global Commitment to Improve Workplace Safety

How can we make our workplaces safer throughout the world?  What can we learn from each other that will help bring people home safely to their families from work every day, everywhere?  How can we visibly demonstrate a true commitment to measurable change in workplace safety?

These questions are being asked by committed companies that share a desire to improve workplace safety globally. They believe they have the ability to effect real-world change and achieve an attainable goal of increased safety and injury reduction. They also believe that lack of safety in the workplace and in the home carries with it a significant cost to individuals, companies and countries that requires a global effort by industry leaders.

The World Safety Declaration was created to support this effort.  Companies that sign the World Safety Declaration will explore ways of promoting personal safety as a value that transcends geography, political affiliation, citizenship, ethnicity, religious affiliation, occupation, age and gender. They will discover new ways to support their belief that personal safety is a universal construct and improvements in safety at home and in the workplace can be defined, evaluated and measured, despite differences of environment and setting.
